Tapis 2: how did I miss this?

I can't believe I didn't post this photo with the last update - it's so lovely! Chris and the two young girls who saw us knitting and asked if they could join in and could we teach them.... yes, of course, said Chris. And she taught them to crochet. They had so much fun that they couldn't hide their disamay when their mum came to take them home - and they loved Caroline's hat too. Bravo Chris!

Totally Tapis!

Top marks to Caroline for actually making a hat! Voila! The finished result was utterly lovely -especially the pom-pom! We also liked the visor (ingeniously cut from plastic and inserted into the brim). A truly 60s style, soft, squishy, fun creation. Meanwhile, the rest of us were busy with other things (think pink ponies and bed socks)..... Thanks to Chris, Barbara and Claire (ladies - you're great!) we had a stunning display of knitted goods, from elephants to baby bootees and knitted cup cakes. Needless to say, such colourful, gorgeous objects attracted a lot of attention and we met some really friendly, curious people and spread the word about our group. The best thing of all - apart from all the great stalls and all the tempting things to buy - was the fact that for the second year running we sat opposite our dear friend Anthony Lams: the one and only Master of Marzipan! Breien op zondag!

Beste Breisters,

Deze zondag 1 april komen wij samen in de Droge Coo vanaf 11.00 uur. Normaal stoppen wij om 15.00 maar, heel uitzonderlijk, moeten wij stoppen rond 14.15 omdat er een repetitie is. Ik heb beloofd dat wij weg zullen zijn om 14.30 uur. Hopelijk is dat geen probleem. Breisters - geduld! Alles zal in orde komen en na de paasvakantie zal ik samenzitten met Kerlijn om een goede planning te maken voor de toekomst.

Tapis plage was zeer leuk en straks zal ik foto's op de blog zetten.

Volgende afspraken in de Coo zijn:

zondag 6 mei.

Op zondag 6 juni is de Droge Coo bezet. Dus komen wij samen in de Villa Elise in de Frans Mussinstraat 27 (in de buurt van de Bibliotheek). Maar, let op, als het warm genoeg is kunnen wij ook buiten breien, in het park of op het strand.... wij sturen meer informatie eind mei.

Tapisplage - Wie komt er af?

Beste breibrigade,

Zondag is het Tapisplage in Duin&Zee (bereikbaar met de fiets, auto of tram - halte Duin & Zee)

Ik zal er ten laatste om 9u30 zijn, het evenement begint om 10u en Helen zal ons even later vergezellen en we kunnen er tot 18u breien.

Hoe zit het met jullie? Wie denkt met ons te kunnen breien?

We zouden ongeveer moeten weten hoeveel stoelen we aan de organisatie moeten vragen.

Zoals vorig jaar stellen we weer een gemeenschappelijk project voor: Zachte mutsjes voor mensen die door chemotherapie hun haar hebben verloren. Zie ook http://zetoptegenkanker.blogspot.com/

Natuurlijk zijn je eigen werkjes welkom, en wie er mooie stukken wil tentoonstellen mag deze zeker ook meebrengen.

Vorig jaar was er de mogelijkheid om broodjes ter plaatse te kopen, je mag er ook gerust je eigen "picnic" meebrengen.

Voor alle zekerheid heb ik ook nog Helen's en mijn GSM nummers aan iedereen doorgemaild.

Sunday scarves (and hats and gloves...)

Keeping warm in winter isn't hard if you've got great wool and love knitting! Here are a few of the great scarves, hats and gloves knitted in the group. First up, Chris with her lovely handwarmers (and coffee), Marie Therese in the hugest, most beautiful, gorgeously knitted shawl/scarf (another one of Jan's epic achievements), Rozemie in a fantastic scarf made up of triangles and pom poms (great colours) and, finally, Barbara's perfect hat in Kaffe Fassett's Colourways yarn. Barbara looks bemused - she wasn't sure about the hat. But, honestly, it's great! Barbara, please don't tell us you unravelled it all........

Op 25 maart is het Tapis Plage! Dit evenement zal plaats vinden in Duin en Zee en wij zijn uitgenodigd om samen te breien zoals vorig jaar. Zie de website voor meer informatie: http://www.tapisplage.be/

Vorige jaar was het heel leuk om samen te breien voor een goed doel (wij hebben handwarmers gebreid voor Poverello en dank zij Jan hebben wij ongeveer tien paar handschoenen kunnen geven). Dit jaar kiezen wij voor 'zet op tegen kanker': http://zetoptegenkanker.blogspot.com/ Dus breien wij mutsen voor kanker patiënten. Maar deelnemen aan de muts actie is niet verplicht...Tapis Plage is een heel leuk evenement met ongelooflijk mooie standen en dingen te zien. Zondag kunnen wij meer praten en een afspraak maken voor de dag zelf.
