Time to celebrate! On 5th March, it was Ines's birthday which happened to coincide with breiclub. Hurrah! What's not to love about coffee and walmut cake and a glass of cava? Marian's healthy cookies were also a treat. And you will also see, below, all the beautiful yarn that the birthday girl brought home from 'Unravelled' in Farnham. The pièce de résistance? Ines's brand new signal hat, from the latest issue of PomPom magazine, designed by her good friend Anna Maltz. The inside is as perfect as the outside and the colours were inspired by an Eric Ravillious painting. Knitted entirely from odds and ends of yarn found in her stash. Little did she know it then, but her creation played a part in her winning PomPom's 'spring can only get better' competition. One lucky and talented lady! Here's to you, Ines!

It's never polite to give away a lady's age, so I won't be mentioning any years... Suffice to say, we celebrated Barbara's birthday in style: with a delicious homemade chocolate brownie cheesecake (thank you Ines!), some Cornish Fairings (courtesy of myself) and a lovely glass of Cava (cheers Barbara!). There were blushes and a treasure chest filled with wool (and a surprise present). Not to mention glorious knitting, such as Marianne's sweet rabbit cardigan (with a back as perfect as the front) and Anne's cheerful crochet placements. Whose birthday is it next I wonder?
